Why is AI adoption low among SMBs?
AI adoption remains limited among SMBs due to several factors. Many owners feel intimidated by the complexity of AI technology, with 63% of organizations unsure if they have the right foundation to support it. Additionally, there are concerns about maintaining the human touch in customer interactions, as well as misconceptions that AI is expensive and difficult to implement. In reality, many AI tools are now simpler and more affordable, making them accessible for smaller businesses.
What benefits can AI bring to SMBs?
AI can significantly benefit SMBs by streamlining operations and enhancing customer engagement. For instance, 97% of SMBs using voice AI agents reported revenue increases, and 82% experienced improvements in customer engagement. Moreover, 80% of these businesses saved five or more hours per week, allowing them to focus on sales and product development, which are critical for growth.
How can SMBs start adopting AI?
SMBs can start adopting AI by identifying specific areas where they face challenges, such as missed calls or delayed follow-ups. They don't need a large budget or dedicated IT team to begin; many low-cost AI tools are available that address single challenges. It's also beneficial to leverage vendor support, learn from peers, and conduct research to find suitable solutions. Starting small and learning progressively can help businesses integrate AI effectively.
